Have you found that your trees are dying or that your trees aren't growing? This can be caused by tree pests such as emerald ash borer's or tree diseases such as oak wilt. Whatever it may be, the team at Korte Tree Care can take care of your trees with deep root fertilization and specialized micro nutrient fertilizers for Oak Iron Chlorosis, Magnolia Chlorosis, and Pecan zinc deficiency.
There are several approaches we can take to ensure your trees receive proper care.. One service we offer is an injection system that injects pesticides and fungicides straight into the trees so there isn't a residue left on the ground or in the ground water, minimizing pollution. We also use Emamectin Benzoate to treat Emerald Ash Borer for superior year round kill and longer residual effectiveness over Imidicloprid. The Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive beetle from Asia. It was first discovered in the United States during the summer of 2002 near Detroit, Michigan. Emerald Ash Borer has quickly become one of the most destructive and costly forest insects in urban forest history.
Despite being so small, the Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive species of insect that can kill the ash trees in your yard or on your property. The Emerald Ash Borer lives under the bark of your trees. As they feast on your tree, they create galleries under the bark that stops the flow of nutrients and kills the tree.
These small tree-killers begin to emerge around June, leaving small exit holes in the bark. They lay their eggs high up in the twigs and branches of your ash tree. During their feeding they'll start at the top of your tree and work their way down. If your tree is looking like it might need a toupée, it might be time to call Korte Tree Care.
Some symptoms are more noticeable than others, but empty branches near the top of your tree, new sprouts at the base of the tree, "D" shaped exit holes, and damage from woodpeckers looking for a snack are all signs that your tree might have an Emerald Ash Borer problem.

The cause of death in most ash trees due to an emerald ash borer infestation isn’t necessarily due to the insects themselves, but their eggs and larvae. The insects lay their larvae inside tree bark, where they feed on the sapwood inside the tree. Soon, there are enough larvae feeding on the sapwood inside the tree that vital water and nutrients are unable to reach the upper areas of the tree, eventually killing off the ash tree completely.
Ask yourself these three questions:
Check this map to see if EAB has been found in your county. If it has, then you do not need to report. But, if it has not been reported, then go to the next question.
Determine if your tree is an ash tree. If the tree is an ash tree, then go to the next question.
The visual symptoms associated with emerald ash borer infestations are nearly identical to those we often see on ash trees infested or infected by other ash pests and diseases. It is important to look for a combination of at least two or more symptoms or signs when trying to determine the presence of EAB in ash trees.
